Solarshield is made up from a piece of clear or tinted glass, clear or tinted PVB interlayer and a piece of clear glass that has a metal coating applied to one side. The metal coating used is a thin deposit of nickel and chromium. Solarshield limits the amount of light entering inside and blocks up to 99% of damaging UV radiation.
Solarshield is available in a range of colours and three densities of coating S10, S20 and S30 the figure refers to the light transmission of the coating, which in turn is directly proportional to the amount of solar heat entering the building.
